PROPER CARE


Every week, make sure your exterior lights and turn signals are in working order. Turn them on in succession and verify they work as they should. These lights and signals include the brake lights, headlights, fog lights (if applicable), reverse lights, parking lights, license plate lights, turn signal/hazard flashers and horn. You may need an assistant to verify the operation of some lights (for example, the brake lights).

Keep your headlights clean and free of road dirt, tar, bugs, etc. Always wash them at a gas station in addition to the windshield; they usually get dirty together for the same reasons.
